Faceless —The Clothing Brand, has been created by a busy husband and wife, parents of four very active boys. The ultimate aim is to raise money for Beyond Blue, an important charity supporting those suffering or effected by depression, suicide, anxiety disorders and other related mental illnesses.
Facing some tough times throughout the lockdown in Victoria, Aaron & Mel Lofts made the decision to step outside of their comfort zone, and invest in their own small business. “We were looking to make something special happen during the lockdown, and give our kids something to focus on outside of their home schooling” explains Mel. “Our kids are deeply involved in sports, and they’ve been put on hold indefinitely because of the pandemic, we wanted to give the whole family something to keep their minds active and strong, challenging ourselves and giving us the chance to focus on something positive.”
After changes in employment gave us a little more free time, we decided to create something together as a family. “I went from having regular casual work in childcare, to no work at all” says Mel, “I felt that I was reduced basically to nothing, not qualifying for the Job Keeper meant we needed to come up with something outside of the norm to provide for our family” she explains. “I want to support the crowd in my life, my family, and those close to me who are finding things hard at this time”.
Getting the kids involved in the design and style process was a really important contribution to Faceless. “The boys helped with the colours and styling, helping us create a modern look that has appeal across all generations.”
Faceless is about connecting with people that might feel a little like ‘just another face in the crowd’, someone who might not have the loudest voice, or the strongest opinion, being pushed around, or smothered by the world. You can be whoever you want to be, rise up, and remind yourself that you can achieve anything you want to.
“We want to make people feel like they are part of something bigger. Something special. We want to help join and support others that are doing it tough at the moment, and also raise money for an important charity partner” explains Aaron.
The initial release of Faceless clothing will be specially named ’First Edition’ and will only be available in limited quantities. “We want those who support this brand from the beginning to own something rare and special.” The ‘First Edition’ are unique designs, with only 200 pieces available of each clothing style, and only 50 each colour of the lockdown inspired ‘Camo’ hoodies.
“Our goal is to raise $2,000 for Beyond Blue, an incredible foundation that assists with those who are struggling with mental health, anxiety, and depression. Supporting those organisations that support society is an integral part of the Faceless brand, and something I value greatly” says Mel.
Faceless will donate $2 from every T-Shirt and cap sale, and $5 from every Hoodie sale to Beyond Blue. Beyond Blue is an Australian independent non-profit organisation working to address issues associated with depression, suicide, anxiety disorders and other related mental illnesses.
